Morankar Sudhakar Narayan holds a PhD in Anthropology (Pune University), Post Graduate Diploma in Planning (Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology, Ahmedabad) and PG Diploma in Health Care Management in Tropical Countries (Swiss Tropical Institute, Switzerland). He is a Professor in Medical Anthropology, Health, Behavior and Society Department and Director of the Ethiopian Evidence Based Healthcare and Development Center, a JBI Center of Excellence in Jimma University. He trained in Anthropology with a specialization in Cultural and Medical Anthropology and worked in an academic private consultancy company as senior research executive for seven years, in an academic NGO as senior research officer for 17 years in India and as Professor in Jimma University, Ethiopia for 20 years. Morankar has extensive experience in conducting research in gender based and sexual violence, HIV/AIDS, TB, malaria, reproductive health, social science research methods, implementation and dissemination sciences, systematic reviews in health and evidence-based health care. He trained students, faculty, and other colleagues in Medical Anthropology and various professionals with specialized training courses. Morankar has 45 years of research experience and successfully conducted more than 60 projects. He published about 125 peer reviewed research papers, five chapters in books, two books, and several proceedings.
