Asri Adisasmita
Dr. Asri Adisasmita is a Professor at the Department of Epidemiology, Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia (UI), Indonesia. Currently, she serves as Head of the Epidemiology Department at the Faculty of Public Health. She earned her master and doctorate degrees from the Yale School of Medicine. Her research interests are in perinatal, maternal and child health, which involves collaborations with international partners. She was the Country-Level Program Leader for Process Measurement and Perinatal Outcome for IMMPACT (Initiative for Maternal Mortality Program Assessment), a global research program aiming at reducing maternal and perinatal mortality through evidence-based effective and efficient safe motherhood programs. She had been working with the Indonesian Ministry of Health (MoH) in establishing, piloting and implementing maternal and child health-related programs, namely: development of National Birth-Defect Surveillance, Confidential Enquiry into Maternal Death, and Maternal Death Surveillance and Response. She also leads Health Evaluation and Applied Research Development (HEARD) – UI Sub-Regional Anchor Partner (2016-now) – USAID-funded project on a flexible global implementation science partnership mechanism, responding to emerging USAID health and development priorities, such as landscaping analysis of violence against the children in Indonesia, assessment of Positive Youth Development beneficiaries in Indonesia, and landscaping analysis on mental health in five Asian countries.
